Large Black Areas

I love the contrast in the current series of strips I've been working on. The large areas of black really make the strips pop on the screen. But I had no idea how time consuming it would turn out to be once I changed the setting of the comic strip to nighttime. On average it adds at least half an hour to my inking time (which is normally around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Now that I've established that it's nighttime, I have to stick with it, probably for the next hundred strips. I have no doubt I'll be pleased with the look of the comic as a result of this choice, but I've definitely created more work for myself.

Unless I decide to set the rest of the storyline inside well-lit buildings with no windows.
